Mikael’s countenance had returned to its usual. He wasn’t relaxed, which he hadn’t been since they met tonight, but the power that had churned in the air around him no longer did. He looked like an older version of teenage Mikael, handsome, sweet, smart, not at all more powerful than any other human.

“This morning some dead man poked his head into my shower and demanded to know when the necromancer would help him. I nearly slipped and fell. I could have broken my neck,” she said.
