Naughty or Nice Blog Hop

Posted by on September 22, 2012

Summer ends officially this weekend. Of course, I’m still running to the beach every chance I get. We might even take Dino this weekend for a little swim. He hasn’t been since last year so he’s about due for a beach day. I love to take him, though I have to admit he’s a handful. He gets so excited by all the smells and sights and the water that he forgets all the training we’ve put him through– which means I spend the entire trip monitoring his every move.

And what does that mean for a Beach Reader? No reading. Absolutely none. But I’ll accept my fate and enjoy my dog’s exuberant joy.

When I’m at the beach I read like a fiend. I’m a firm believer the at the Kindle was the most brilliant invention. Any way I can access my library and buy more books while enjoying the beach works for me.

This summer I read the entire Night Huntress Series by Jeanine Frost, including Mencheres’s story. Books two and four were my favorites. And thank God I knew there were more books after book one. As a true romance fan my heart was just about ripped out of my chest with book one!

I read Desperate Betrayal by Hildie McQueen.

It’s the first book in the Protector’s Series and I loved it.

The series is fantastic. I also read Agnes Jayne’s The Problem with Power, another great story and the first in another series. I love series. However, I’m a bit of an obsessive-compulsive reader. If I start I book I, I have to finish it- fast. I devour it. Then, if it’s part of a series, I’m off to the next book like a junkie.

They say knowing your peculiarities is half the battle! :)

I’m currently reading Alexandra Ivy’s Darkness Unleashed. I love Jagr, but then what’s not to love about a vampire hero?

So, what did you read this summer? What was your favorite book and why?

I’m giving away a $5 Amazon Gift card to one commenter and I encourage the winner to use it to buy a hot romance!

Hi Jan. Thanks for stopping by. It seems a lot of us read complete series this summer. Must have been something in the air! Jordan

  3. Jo

They are YA novels, but two books I read this summer that I really enjoyed were ‘The Gathering’ and ‘The Calling’ by Kelley Armstrong. I liked them because they take place near where I grew up, so it was neat to read about places I was familiar with.

Hi Jo. It is fun to be able to relate to the town or settings of stories. I use some places in RI in my books, though I have made up a town or two. But I loved to read stories set in places I’ve been to. It makes the connection even stronger. Jordan
